CLM - 514 Project Management

Project management is a critical tool for a successful laboratory leader. This course will focus on all the concepts of project management, from development and implementation of a successful project plan with the resources on hand. The student will choose a laboratory section project, with the help of the instructor, define the scope, resources, time and cost of the project and apply all those tools and steps toward a project management timeline. Since projects involve working with other laboratorians, team building skills will also be included in the course. The course will also cover LEAN Six Sigma tools and project management techniques for reducing waste and/or reducing process variation. Offered: spring.
