HSC - 425 Healthcare Informatics

This course will introduce students to healthcare informatics, the field devoted to the optimal use of data, information, and knowledge to advance individual health, public health, health care, and health-related research. Health Informatics also focus on the integration of cutting-edge technology in different application areas of health care for optimization of health care delivery. Students will learn the application of informatics skills and knowledge to health-related problems. Topics include: overview of health informatics, healthcare data analytics, electronic health records, health information privacy and security, health informatics ethics, telehealth/telemedicine, medical imaging informatics, consumer health informatics, public health informatics, and clinical decision support system.
