SLP - 540 Head and Neck Cancer Management This course covers the unique challenges of evaluating and treating speech, voice, and swallowing disorders resulting from treatment for head and neck cancer. Basic understanding of surgical and chemoradiation effects and all forms of alaryngeal speech are studied. Emphasis will be placed on communication and swallowing evaluations, and rehabilitation using case studies. A team approach to patient care will be stressed. Course may be audited by thesis-track students. Prerequisites: SLP-523L and SLP-537L. Offered: Summer. Retake Counts for Credit: No. Pass/No Pass Grading Allowed: No. Credit(s): 2
